Krogstad Festlig Aquavit is named after head distiller Christian Krogstad who was first introduced to Aquavit by his Norwegian grandparents. Infused caraway and star anise are the dominant spices. Krogstad Festlig won the Double Gold medal at the 2012 SF World Spirits Competition for Aquavit Cocktail Recipes.

This Aquavit is more like an ouzo and savory. Breakin' plates! Tasty, but need a story or food.
Strong anise flavor and mild sweetness. Reminiscent of a pastiche.
Drinks like absinthe-light. Heavy licorice. Almost one note. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not particularly complex.
BLACK licorice. Deep anise on the nose. Hits the tongue with the same feel as having just enjoyed a full box of Panda black licorice. Slightly numb, but delicious.
