Loch Lomond 13 year single cask was tasted at Meeting No. 97 on April 29, 2021. Out of 5, we rated it very highly at 3.68, though we had some disagreement among member ratings. Loch Lomond 13 year single cask ranks 6th overall in Scotch. Costing $110, this spirit is on the pricier side, but well worth the money.
Menthol meets peat. Sea breeze and campfire with a cinnamon / hot sauce punch in the mouth to finish.
Wonderful rich nose of deep dark fruits. Cinnamon apples like the snacks in my kids lunch.
A lot of heat up front with the high ABV. Almost drowns out the flavor. Much better with some ice. Very interesting after taste. Long on the tongue with lots of up front heat and sweetness. Much, much better with some water/ice
