Made from a blend of over 40 single malts, Diageo's Johnnie Walker Black includes spirit from other distilleries we tasted at this same meeting - Talisker, Mortlach, and Caol Ila.
We tasted Johnnie Walker Black at Meeting No. 34 on March 26, 2015. We rated it very highly at 3.13 out of 5. Johnnie Walker Black ranks 110th overall in Scotch.
Industry standard decent Scotch. Never going to give it up. Never going to let you down.
Light hearted complexity. Gives you something to think about but won't steal your attention for long.
Appealing nose. Sweet and light with lingering complexity. Yest Ye forget - blended put Scotch on the map! Respect.
After our spirits this evening, this was a soft pillow. Rounded edges. Safety goggles. Prophylactics. Gentle blend. Nothing stands out.
Aroma: overripe banana, cinnamon, runts. Flavor: clean, peach, lemon. Not distracting.
