The Flaming Heart 15th Anniversary blended malt commemorates the 15th anniversary of Compass Box, a boutique blender formed by a former Director at Johnnie Walker.
Compass Box Flaming Heart 15th Anniversary was tasted at Meeting No. 49 on July 27, 2016. Out of 5, we rated it very highly at 3.84. Compass Box Flaming Heart 15th Anniversary ranks 37th overall in Scotch. Costing $120, this spirit is on the pricier side, but well worth the money.
Plays a lot of notes beautifully. Well balanced, complex, and worth savoring.
Nose is cherry cordial + brake dust. Slow burn finish.
Big rum raisin smoky scotch. This is the goliath to all the microbes we tasted earlier. It's a little big to be an every day drinker, but really solid.
Cherry candy scent with just a touch of smoke. Comfortable in the mouth, not too hot. Complex flavor with sweet and savory, fruit and wood.
Plum, cherries and stiff on the nose. A little water opens this up like a crack in the dam. It's the same water but more explosive (in the floral notes).
Sherry comes through and beats the peat! Kapooyah!
Hands down my favorite peated scotch! The sherry pulls this complex spirit though with balance!
Flavor shot up the nostrils in the nicest possible way. Cherry hints in the smell. Best for a dust library at hogwarts. A camel-shaped taste with initial experience in front and after taste in the side of the tongue.
