Sullivans Cove American Oak Cask was tasted at Meeting No. 75 on November 29, 2018. Out of 5, we rated it very highly at 3.69, though we had some disagreement among member ratings. Sullivans Cove American Oak Cask ranks 3rd overall in Other Whiskey. Costing $250, this spirit is expensive, but worth it.
Odd yet alluring Bruichladdich ozone smell. Wow, what a dram once! Once your taste buds kick in this is dy-no-nite. It comes to life, with pleasantly jagged kicks and pulses of spice as it goes down. Best for surprising unknowing aficionados.
Very different. Industrial and acidic. Herbaceous, young, tomato sauce.
Super unique smell. Wet gym shoe. Dank. A bit sour. Hint of dirt. Taste of raw malt. Tastes better than it smells. Unique but not my preference.
Wet newspaper smell. Flavor is off-putting as well. Best for a practical joke. 2ns pass: smells like lasagna left out on the counter for a week or two.
