We tasted Jameson Black Barrel at Meeting No. 53 on November 17, 2016. We rated it very highly at 3.34 out of 5. Jameson Black Barrel ranks 15th overall in Irish Whiskey.
Tastes like an eminently drinkable whiskey. Couldn't pick out anything distinctive except the part where it kept whispering "drink more" and, I Mean, I didn't want to be rude...
Vanilla, creamy, oats, dried cherries. Creamy mouth, soft.
Sweet nose of vanilla, brown sugar and oats. A full on breakfast in my mouth. Finishes quick and easy.
Banana vanilla toast. Not too hot, but some cinnamon notes. A nice easy drink.
Nose of banana; sweet barley sugar; oak. Dangerously drinkable.
Fresh vanilla. No bite. Enjoyable - likely want this on the rocks chilling out, watching the Hawks. Scents of mash bill. Good with a soda mixture, I'm sure.
Sweet with a charred flavor and maybe sense of wet tobacco. I didn't like it at first but it's growing on me.
Vanilla and caramel notes with a little heat
