Tasting Notes

First Tasted at Meeting No. 43 in January 2016
 •  3.5

Also smells like whiskey. 2 for 2! More barley in the mash, a little of the Auld Sodde on the nose... A passable imitation of Irish Whiskey. This is good stuff. Reminiscent of Jameson's. Way more heat on the backend than the Breucklen. Well done, Ransom!

Malt, malt, and more malt. Didn't have as much depth as I'd hoped, but enjoyable nonetheless. Tough buy at this price point though.

 •  2.5

Smells like an active distillery on a warm day. Barley playdough nose is better than it sounds. A little too youthful to be a smooth sipping take on Irish. Bitter finish.

 •  2.5

Enters as Ortho fertilizer, lays down a primer on the tongue that allows flavors to penetrate that are reminiscent of the inside of the plastic shells of my Hansen ski boots in 1981.

 •  2.5

Meh-meh-mallllllty nose. Not distinctive to me.

 •  2.5

Nose strong and malty, palate is um...ginny, finish leaves my tongue scratchy.

 •  1.0

Hoppy. Not very good. Not Ransom, it's rancid. Citrus... Why???
