Sherried greatness matured in Oloroso and Fino Sherry Casks from Speyside's independently owned Glenfarclas.
We tasted Glenfarclas 12 at Meeting No. 41 on October 29, 2015. We rated it very highly at 3.50 out of 5. Glenfarclas 12 ranks 21st overall in Scotch.
Rose petals glaze - like a sherry sugar donut. Light yellow tones. Captain Crunch berry scotch. Like a Macintosh bar - delicious!
Can't escape a cherry-vanilla aroma on the nose, and that's just fine with me. Really light and accessible in terms of an alcohol burn. Hard for me to catch a sherry note off of this, but then again I am very pedestrian when it comes to sherries. This is a good one
Smooth + woody. Very little Sherry distinction. Dry chocolate finish - very nice.
Light aroma on the nose and flowery. Delicate in the palate and full of delicious rose flavor.
Floral, grassy, sun baked raisins. Subtle and kind.
Assertively spicy. Aggressive burn on the finish, but in a pleasant way. Great value and solid everyday selection.
