We tasted Glenfiddich 18 Year at Meeting No. 13 on June 27, 2013. We rated it very highly at 3.69 out of 5. Glenfiddich 18 Year ranks 12th overall in Scotch. At a street price of $94, this spirit is on the pricier side, but well worth the money.
Sweet hints and smooth finish. Cedar, fruit, light in color.
When watered the smell is fresh cut green apples. Rich and woody.
Soft & smooth. Supposed notes of apple and cinammon sticks — unconfirmed. Tasting session supplemented with sweet apple pie. Unable to draw a profile connection bettween this 18 year and the pie — unless the pie was presoaked in thinner.
Pitted fruit is the dominant flavor. Very little peat, almost nothing but a little bit of smoke and suddenly it's gone, like a Copperfield magic trick.
