We tasted La Niña del Mezcal Bacanora D.O. at Meeting No. 47 on May 26, 2016. We rated it very highly at 3.68 out of 5. La Niña del Mezcal Bacanora D.O. ranks 6th overall in Mezcal. At a street price of $80, this spirit is on the pricier side, but well worth the money.
Smells of scotch tape adhesive with a hint of orange starburst candy. Definitely more of a kick on this one but very good…classic agave peppery taste
Smells like the lumber section of Home Depot. Drinks a lot better than lumber would though, very nice.
More of a Tequila nose with a light mezcal smoke. Pretty good hybrid of Tequila / Mezcal flavors.
Rich, full, zesty, sweet, anise-but-not-really, boozy. Good evening sipper.
Tequila hangover headache on the nose. Spiky punch up front, like eating a sea urchin. Hot middle and cool finish, like a day in the Sonoran desert. The best of the mezcal mess. I'm not an agave fan.
