Bottle #180
We tasted Barrell Rum 13 Year at Meeting No. 89 on April 30, 2020. We rated it very highly at 3.89 out of 5. Barrell Rum 13 Year is the top rated Rum that we've tried.
Smells like sweet minty pine. Tastes like Ludens cherry cough drops in a wonderful way. Highly drinkable. Nice little heat.
Strong fruit matched with stronger wood, like a bourbon barrel Macallan perhaps topped with nitroglycerin. Water really brings this into focus.
Very round taste. Saline wind. You can breathe it for a few seconds after. Like a distilled hot buttered rum on first sip. Gets more complex with each consecutive taste.
