Intense roasted nuts and dark caramel aromas follow through to a bold full body with with toffee and burnt hay accents. Finishes with a touch of smoked nuts, chocolate covered ginger and banana. No age statement, but made from a blend of casks 5-25 years old.
We tasted Aberlour A'bunadh at Meeting No. 14 on July 25, 2013. We rated it very highly at 3.75 out of 5. Aberlour A'bunadh ranks 11th overall in Scotch.
Strong raisin on the nose. Burns so good. Tastes like an apple soaked in scotch.
Carmel green apple (on a stick) nose. Rich, complex Macallan 12/Yamazaki 12 - esque. This is a great spirit if you're looking to get into scotch, but still interesting after you've had many.
Burning palate, raisins, crips apples, yet surprisingly drinkable.
I would pay the two extra dollars [over the 16 yr]. A soft plushness, like a plump raisin in a bowl of cream of wheat.
