From high in the Jack Daniels’ rickhouse, a single-barrel expression, bottled at 94 proof.
We tasted Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey at Meeting No. 40 on September 24, 2015. We rated it very highly at 3.33 out of 5. Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey ranks 23rd overall in American Whiskey.
Spicy pepper and cacao. Some mint and riding leather.
Caramel and candy hits you right from the start. Effervescent and complex carry you the rest of the way!
Nose saweet and fruity. Palate a swift punch with heat and pickled veggies.
Scent of Big League Chew. Maple, caramel, but stale - strong coating of mouth. A little goes a long way. Could make a Manhattan of champions with this.
Nose: strong rubbing alcohol initially. A bit sweeter once it warmed up. Flavor: mouth and tongue tingled, like a Szechuan peppercorn.
