Tasting Notes

First Tasted at Meeting No. 51 in September 2016
 •  4.0

Jurassic park amber color. Very sweet on the nose. Apple, banana, with added sugar. From concentrate. Coppery mid notes. Doesn't linger. Scratch that, totally does, builds after a minute. Gets hotter as it lingers. Agave syrup sweetness. PEPPERMINT. Butterscotch nose. Gets better every time I come back to it.

 •  3.5

Spiced peppery cider nose. Ripe orange slices. Light yeast. Maroon, mahogany color. Love this, on ice watching the Hawks tear it up. Hints of vinegar.

 •  3.5

Black pepper and cola with some cinnamon wood spice. Light mouth feel but pretty hot. Coming back to it, I get spruce and fresh herbs. Stays interesting. Might need a little more barrel time.

 •  3.5

Caramel color and nose opens on a swirl to flowers with a hint of vanilla. Sharp and light up front like a kick in the teeth of burning water. Slowly moves back in the mouth with feel but not flavor. Wood and barley. With water a move to copper toffee.

 •  3.5

Rich fruit smashed into an old plank. Excellent alcohol level, just enough grip on the cheeks.

 •  3.0

Mild sweetness on the nose. A bit astringent, with some burn on the finish. Fruity notes, apricot, and a hint of hops.
