Tropical fire. Distilled honeycomb. Skydiving into an archipelago. This checks all the boxes as a stunner malt. Truly special.

Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve 23yr  •  2/26/2015  •  5.0

Wonderful, full nose - Cherry syrup, spice, and Kentucky Potpourri. Complex. Gentle, slow-rolling, tongue-covering stuff. The hype had me to believe this was too old. Nay I say. So deep I can't see the end.

Ardbeg Uigeadail  •  12/18/2014  •  5.0

Tight musky note, and well balanced, deep and desserty. Like a slice of boozy chocolate cake. So easy to drink, but so deep and vibrant. A personal favorite.

Uncle Val's Botanical Gin  •  1/31/2013  •  1.0

Smells like lemon pledge. Tastes like a lemonhead dropped into a glass of gin. Too sweet as well, so I guess I'll be cleaning my floor with this.

Catoctin Creek Dia de los Muertos Whiskey  •  4/27/2017  •  1.5

Furniture polish nose like the kind in my basement growing up that had been there since the house was built. Taste is not quite the redemption.

Brenne French Single Malt Whisky  •  6/24/2015  •  2.0

Bubble gum or cotton candy nose. Really nice and drinkable but needs more proof, but then maybe it would be too sweet?

Rosebank 21 Year Limited Edition

Rosebank • The Lowlands, Scotland
Single Malt Scotch • 21 Years Old • 53.5% ABV • $249

Original Tasting Note:

4.5  •  Hits you with its proof in an on-so-delicate way. Floral with a little burnt molasses, but still delicate. Rose water? watered down old lady perfume, but still amazing. With two drops of water, sublime!

Comments:

One of the last releases from this long silent distillery. Incredible presence. Worth every penny. Have a bottle at home that I'm saving for a special event, but tasting this in itself is a special event.

Keep coming back to this. So much better than the 12, but unfortunate this is so hard to find.
