A 12 year old single malty from Suntory. The Hakushu distillery sits in the forests not far from the Japanese Alps.
The Hakushu 12 was tasted at Meeting No. 24 on May 29, 2014. Out of 5, we rated it very highly at 3.38. The Hakushu 12 ranks 10th overall in Japanese Whisky.

First Tasted at Meeting No. 24 in May 2014
Very light - slightly smokey. Zen. Balance. Superior.
Light single malt. Another delicious Japanese flavor - not my favorite, but a solid choice for a somber whiskey.
Nose of smoke. Taste of caramel with a zesty spice, with a benediction of peat smoke at the end.
